Hello Will,
My old sprayhood has been in a chums loft for years, I checked it out today.
The cover is smelly PVC covered fabric (ie not Acrylic) and it has changed colour to a sort of mottled black/navy.   In a couple of places the fabric has worn/cracked in the folds but there are no holes.   It looks poor.   The stiching looks ok and the windows are dirty but not badly yellowed and they are still supple.   The frame is in good order and it is all there, you would have to obtain male "lift a dot" fixings to attach to the boat at the forward edge.
I would say you could get a few seasons out of it and it will work well and keep the weather off.  It will not leak badly.   At that point you could make, or have made, a new cover.   The aluminium frame should have lots of life left in it.
If, like me, you only have the hood up when it is needed, then fine.    If you are hoping to pose at Cowes, then forget it.   I require £50.
I get down to Falmouth now and again, perhaps you also get to Plymouth.   I am near Torpoint.
