An event in the Solent Tuesday evening 3 July:

P&O 175 anniversary parade from Southampton.

7 Cruise liners leave in convoy, with Red Arrows overhead at Thorne Channel at 19.20-19.45,

then fleet review at West Bramble.

I plan to take Badger out and see this, leaving Hamble 18.30 latest.  Anyone else?

The approximate timings for the Flotilla’s progress through Southampton Water and The Solent are as follows (timings are for first ship (Adonia) and last ship in the Flotilla (Oceana):

Location Time (Adonia) Time (Oceana)

Leave Berth 1715 1855

Pass Dock Head 1825 1900

Pass Calshot 1920 1950

Pass West Bramble 1935 2005

Pass West Ryde Middle 1940 2010

Pass ‘Charlie’ Anchorage 2005 2023

Pass No Man’s Land Fort 2020 2050

Though we got soaked at the mooring, the weather cleared and it was a great sight.
And much better than the usual reasons for sitting on the Brambles for an hour or two!

Not many boats out, but those that were there had fun and good company.
Shame cloudbase prevented the Red Arrows.

Next big spectacular is the J-boats going round the Island on Saturday 21st July.
