We (Lindy & I) are exploring to possibility of sailing around Britain next year,It would be great if any other Contessa's would like to meet up en route or join up for any part of the circumnavigation.
Provisionally starting Solent end May and planning to take three months (or what ever it takes).
Anti-clockwise.... probably.... not sure if its Orkney or down the Great Glen yet and then to enjoy the western Isles, down the East coast of Ireland round to Kinsale possibly and home via the Scilly Isles. As you can see plans are a little fluid, as they should be! The intention is to enjoy a leisurely  extended cruise, my main problem is being able to run my business from a distance! if anyone has any interest please contact us.

Great, look forward to hearing about it in the newsletter if you are happy to share?

May be worth also posting on the Co32 Facebook group once you are underway.

Tony, I am also planning a round Britain (anti-clockwise) trip with Cantata. My plans are a three season voyage with 2016 being from Gosport to the Clyde, 2017 a season on the West Coast of Scotland and 2018 the return to Gosport. I will be mostly single-handing with the occasional family crew when locations are attractive enough and time allows for them. Maybe we could meet and discuss plans and options considered. I have done a lot of research but do not have a fixed schedule for the trip as I want to choose routes as I go and not be forced into travelling in bad weather. regards Rob Young

Tony, we'd be very happy to meet you, at Granton (by Edinburgh, Peak Flow's home port) - where you might want to stop for a day or two in any case, see www.rfyc.org - or wherever our paths might cross further north. Peak Flow should be coming back from the West Coast to Granton in the second half of June. If you'd like to make contact with a view to meeting up, please email me at peakflowhgs@yahoo.com and we can share "real" emails, so we can make a plan nearer the time.

You mean Peak Flow is not staying in the west until July for the National Championship?  With your new sails and Orkney success, you could well be in with a chance.
Be warned though, most Contessas that go west for a cruise from the Forth never return - e.g. Marisca, Counterfeit, Eider, Solan Goose, et al.

Alistair - we still like being going out the harbour entrance into the Forth estuary half an hour after leaving the house! And the Forth is a great place for day sailing. Now you point it out though, we might stay on in the west a couple of weeks to get to the championship...
