Due to a small incident in the Yealm earlier in the year my pushpit has become a little bent - other people don't understand that Contessa's dont go backwards in a predictable manner!
Has anyone removed theirs.
As far as I can see they are bolted into captive nuts - but the nut is not accessible as there is a glassed in shelf presumably to add rigidity to the stern.
The bolts are pretty unmovable at present - in most cases.
Any advice welcome.

Hi James, if your pushpit is like mine it was fitted to the deck before the deck was bonded to the hull, close to the hull the deck sits on the shelf you mention.   Unfortunately this means that the pushpit nuts are sandwiched between the deck and the shelf. If you are lucky some of the machine-screws will undo if the nuts are held captive by the bonding resin used but there may be voids that mean that the nuts can turn. On the nuts that are not captive you could try removing a small piece of the shelf where the nut would be using either a hole cutter or similar (I used a Bosch oscillating multitool).   Once removed you can make good the hole with thickened resin and then re-drill the hole through the deck and shelf before refastening.   Unfortunately access is not easy to most bolts and almost impossible to some.   All I can say is good luck, have plenty of tea bags on board, hope your knuckles survive and try not to swear too much if there are kids about!
