My 10kg Bruce is getting a bit rusty.   I am quite fond of it and I could get it spruced up but am thinking of maybe buying a new one instead.
I am thinking of a 10kg Delta or maybe a 11kg Manson Supreme.  I will not be spending more than the £230 the Manson would cost.   The Kobra would be in the frame but I am not attracted by the nuts and bolts holding it together plus it looks very much like the Delta in other respects.
Two questions then:
1)  Would either of those two anchors fit in the locker?
2)   Are they any better than the Bruce -  have you made a similar swap?

Thanks for any observations backed up by experience.

Yes, a number of good points there.    Thanks.

I am thinking of replacing my rusty CQR-imitation (25 lbs) with a Delta (10 kg) and I would love to here experiences with the Delta and the CO32. Does it fit well in the locker, how does it hold, how much chain is used?

I know a Contessa 32 with a Spade 15 that fits in the locker.  It's an expensive anchor but seems to work very well indeed.

Thanks George.

It has been a few years since your first post on the Rocna.   Are you still happy with it's performance?

I am starting to come around to the idea of the 10kg model.  I see Piplers have them for about £270.    I would hope to fit it in the locker with my 45m of 8mm chain.

Yep, still happy with its performance.  I have to be a little careful when refilling the locker to ensure there is enough space to get the anchor in (the roll-bar makes it a snug fit), but otherwise it's perfect.

I have 20m of 8mm chain and 30m of rope.  This is generally sufficient for the places we visit but if I was cruising adventurously I would be tempted to carry more.

I use a 16kg Delta and that fits into the locker (with about 1mm to spare!) along with 20m of chain and 20m of rope. It's never shown any sign of dragging.
