Has any got or sailed with the latest JR design with the raised area around the mast step, level with the sole in the heads? Any benefits / drawbacks? More and drier space for electricl connections looks like a plus, but does it mean you don't bang your head so often?

Hi Paul,

When getting a new floor fitted I have had the step/raised floor put in by the mast.  Previously we had to step on the sloping part of the floor to get into the heads and now it's flat.  It didn't bother me much either way as I was used to the standard layout and being careful not to slip, however the wife and kids are much happier and we have had less bruises as a result.

The new teak and holly floor (and step) fitted by Rogers looks spectacular, only slippers or bare feet allowed down below now! J
